I really wasn’t feeling well, but it has been 2 weeks since I’ve been out. So, I decided to take advantage of the free parking for the day at Don Carter State park and went out for a few hours.
Not much to report other than it was a great day. I just wish I had felt like staying out longer.
After almost a month of bad weather and other things getting in the way, I was able to hit the water again this morning. My friend John was a lucky winner of the Product Review contest on Paddling.net, and was awarded a brand new, Camden 120 Angler Kayak from Old Town. This was it’s maiden voyage.
John and I were joined by his girlfriend Jess (In a rented kayak by Crescent Kayaks) paddled from the Olympic Rowing venue at Clarks Bridge Park, up to Don Carter State Park and back.
It was a beautiful day on the water. No issues despite the fact John put a jinx on the day by transporting his new boat on the car STERN FIRST!
